Craft/fabric glue set (cross posted) [28 Sep 2006|04:58pm]

Does anyone want to buy a great glue set i bought off Create and Craft tv channel? It's called Touch N Bond and can be used for craft work as well as sticking a whole range of fabrics, i bought it to use for doing some customisation of clothes and have just found it whilst having a tidy up but on reading the instructions i find it's made from latex which means i can't risk using it as i'm latex allergic. Unfortunately it's now just past the 30 day money back returns period so i'm trying to sell it on if i can. I paid £13 for it plus postage but would be happy to take £13 all inclusive or make me an offer.

The discription on the create & craft website says this about it an what the pack contains:Collapse )

I take paypal, cash and cheque.
postage is not included and will be added on
i can provide more pics just ask, but only if you are really interested.
sizes are approx and were more than two measurements are given this could mean a section of the fabric has already been used.

urgent help needed

as you may or may not know my webstore launch is on monday. i've been hoarding patterns, ideas, papers with sketches on, and today i did a HUGE fabric haul in town. i got home, sat myself down at my sewing machine for a whole weekend of sewing in time for the launch & instead it's been basically playing up all day long.

firstly it wasn't taking the thinner fabric, so i did the whole change needle, change tension, eventually got it to work. went back to thicker fabric & did the same again. in the middle of all this a needle broke. but generally, i was getting somewhere at least. though whilst making a bag, which would normally take an hour, has taken all day. i've unpicked so many stitches it's insane.

my newest problem is that the machine wont sew in perfect straight lines. it didn't matter so much until now, as the stitches are unseen, but now i'm towards the end & need the detail.

see hereCollapse )

it's driving me crazy. at one point this evening i was actually in tears. it just won't sew in a straight line! i've never had any problems with this machine (janome new home, harmony 4035) and it's just under 2 years old! i've took off the plate and cleaned inside, and played with tension, changed to different needles, checked the feed, everything i can think of, or find online help for. i don't know what else to do.

any help/tips/advice would be appreciated. i really need to try to fix this for tomorrow so i can actually have a chance at having some stock for my launch! ♥

cross posted to as many places i can think of.

this may sound silly, but where can i get sticky-backed plastic from (the kind used to print onto to make stencils for clothes)?

and what's the best brand, or doesn't it matter?

thanks in advance. x

Absence//maintainer update [05 Sep 2005|09:42am]
Hi everyone, I'm going to be posting this to both the communities I maintain (creative_chicks and perfect_twenty) and also my personal journal. It's just to let you know that, as of tomorrow, I may not be around as much as usual, because I am starting my new job at Marks & Spencers. It's 25 hours minus breaks, so I will be there for longer than that. I'll still be around.

I am also starting college on Thursday (evening, and will be attending every Thursday evening thereafter), which means I might not be around at all on a Thursday. On top of that, once I get paid from my new job, I will be joining a Weight Watchers class on Wednesday evenings. I'm off work every Wednesday, alternate weekends and Tuesday or Thursday each week.

Each community has co-maintainers, so hopefully at least one of us will be around at some point - black_sunshine_ and sparklygem co-maintain creative_chicks and redfi is the new co-maintainer of perfect_twenty.

If there's anything you want to talk to me about, I'm normally on MSN when I am around - sukidoa[at]gmail[dot]com. Otherwise, if you want/need to, you can e-mail me at the same address. Also, whilst I'm here, I'm planning a trip to Portsmouth (I live on the Isle of Wight) on this coming Saturday, so if all goes to plan I won't be around then (presuming I've got my M&S days/hours right).

To bow or not to bow... [19 Aug 2005|04:21pm]
You know the bows that have the neat loop over the middle rather than a knot - like this? Does anyone know how to do them, or if they have a special bow name? I guess it is kind of like a bow tie, but I don't know how to do them either. Thanks x
